Great Wall Motor, a global brand, has recently entered the competitive automotive market of the Philippines by offering a preview of its lineup at The Bellevue Manila, Alabang.
During the preview, GWM ASEAN president Elliott Zhang said: “Today, joining hands with Luxuriant, our strategic partner in the Philippines market, GWM brings four outstanding products to this market, including our Haval H6 and Haval Jolion developed with GWM Intelligent Modular Architecture. In the future, GWM will continue to deepen our partnership with Luxuriant, with a commitment to introduce intelligent, green and sustainable mobility experiences with advanced products and leading technologies, supportive to the upgrade of the auto industry in the Philippines.”
GWM aims to compete in the Philippine market by launching its Haval H6 and Haval Jolion soon. These vehicles are true hybrids and can provide exceptional performance while enhancing fuel efficiency. They share a highly advanced platform that GWM independently developed from a global perspective. It is a lightweight platform with high safety ratings that features perfect integration with new energy powertrains.
Tonette Lee, marketing and sales director for Luxuriant Automotive Group, said the brand brings in a new experience through new energy, technology, and intelligence at a vibrant and exciting time for the automotive sector.

ASEAN and Thailand Project president Elliot Zhang bares a partnership with Luxuriant.
“I welcome you all to experience the innovation and tech leadership of Great Wall Motor, as embodied by the vehicles in the GWM lineup for the Philippines. Our market has never been more exciting, and we would like to contribute our share, especially in the area of green energy, towards sustainable driving at real-world prices,” Lee said.
The H6 and Jolion are designed to provide solutions for both urban and long-distance driving by combining high-efficiency hybrid engines and dual-motor hybrid connections.
The technology also allows for four driving modes — EV, series, parallel, and regeneration — each having its own fuel consumption and driving profiles or capabilities.
According to Fritz de Ocampo, product marketing manager of Luxuriant Automotive Group, “The H6 matches a 1.5L turbo-charged internal combustion engine to a 130 kW Dedicated Hybrid Transmission capable of producing a combined output of 240 HP and 530 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Jolion uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated internal combustion engine mated to a 115 kW Dedicated Hybrid Transmission capable of producing a combined output of 186 HP and 375 Nm of torque. The system results in smoother power delivery, better acceleration, reduced carbon dioxide emissions, and most importantly 35 to 50 percent of fuel savings.”
The Haval H6, which is GWM’s flagship model in the country, is a part of the Haval brand, China’s best-selling SUV for 12 consecutive years.
The Haval H6 delivers dazzling technology and outstanding safety with its outstanding combined power output and torque. It features class-leading features, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and Fatigue Monitoring standard, providing true peace of mind on the road.
On the other hand, the Haval Jolion, the company’s newest and sweetest intelligent premium B-SUV, is a vehicle that embodies intelligent thinking. It is packed with convenient features, such as a large-format multimedia touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless charging.
From the ergonomically designed seats and driver-focused cockpit to generous legroom and ample boot space, the Jolion has been designed with comfort in mind.
The 1.5L hybrid variant with DHT provides high efficiency and high performance with a combined output of 186HP and 375 Nm of torque and an average low fuel consumption of 5L/100km.
The Jolion also offers a slew of innovative driving and safety technologies, such as the 360-degree Around View Monitor and Adaptive Cruise Control, including class-leading level 2 autonomous driving capabilities.
After the preview, GWM and Luxuriant Automotive Group executives led the media to a test drive event at the Batangas Racing Circuit, where media guests had the opportunity to drive the vehicles and highlight specific capabilities and unique features.
Customers can visit GWM UN Avenue for inquiries and test drives after 11 April.
The brand aims to bring a new experience through new energy, technology, and intelligence to the Philippine market at an exciting time for the automotive sector, contributing to sustainable driving at real-world prices.
