Bren Esports edges Omega, retains regular season top seeding

Bren Esports maintained its grip of the top spot in the regular season following a reverse sweep over Omega Esports on Week 5 Day 3 of MPL Season 11 Sunday evening.

The MPL Season 6 champion and M2 world champion dropped the first game against gritty Omega but won the next two games two take the series.

The win improved Bren Esports’ standing to 8-1 with 22 points, retaining the top seed with less than half of the regular season remaining before the playoffs.

According to experienced laner FlapTzy, their success has to do with finally entering a bootcamp.

“Having a bootcamp is a huge impact because now we are all comfortable with that setup,” FlapTzy said.

“We get to grind properly. We also learn discipline with house chores which makes us like a family so we improve our chemistry.”

Earlier in the day, ONIC PH stunned MPL Season 9 champion and MSC 2022 champion RSG PH with a hard-fought 2-1 win.

Despite the win, ONIC remains on the brink of elimination at no. 7 with just three weeks left before the playoffs.
