Zachary Castro was the lone player to break 80 at the difficult Faldo course of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club to set the pace in the Faldo Series Qualifiers on Friday.

A consistent performer in the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines events, Castro shot a 75 to take a five-stroke lead over Bobe Salahog in the boys’ 16-below with Cliff Nuneza taking the third spot on 82.

In the boys’ 21-below, Joshua Buenaventura took a four-shot lead over Timothy Co after firing an 85.

In the girls’ 16-below, Alethea Gaccion of Cagayan de Oro shot 80, five shots ahead of Li Minghui while Burberry Zhang also had an 80 to pace the girls’ 21-below.

The winner in each of the four divisions after three rounds will represent the country in the Faldo Series Asia in Vietnam.
