Osaka visitors honor Rizal

The visitors drew a comparison between Osaka and Manila on how the two cities battled the Covid-19 pandemic and are now gearing up for more vibrant commerce.

Knights of Rizal council of elders member and businessman Reghis Romero on Friday accompanied a big delegation of businessmen from Osaka, Japan in paying tribute to National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

Led by Osaka City Councilor Ms. Mako Orihara, the visitors, laid a wreath at the Rizal Monument in the Luneta before they proceeded to the Manila City Hall where they were welcomed by Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo.

The visitors drew a comparison between Osaka and Manila on how the two cities battled the Covid-19 pandemic and are now gearing up for more vibrant commerce.

They cited Manila’s efforts to help residents affected by the virus during the lockdown through the provision of financial aid, food, and other donations.

Orihara also heads her city’s business, international promotion, and economic strategy bureau. She said both Osaka and Manila can learn from each other while adopting their best practices in governance.
