The Asian Film Awards Youth Ambassador spoke much about film to movie fans and university students, as well as in a media event at Hong Kong’s Harbour City lasy Saturday, 11 March.
The Malaysian-born actress began her career in the limelight as a singer in Taiwan when she released her first music EP “My Happy Adventure” in 2015. She made her debut in Hong Kong’s film industry as part of Vampire Cleanup Department in 2017, and has been active in the Hong Kong film and television industry since then.
What is the most important lesson that film has taught her?
“Love can sometimes make you weak, but without love, you can’t be strong. A film can be in many genres, yet I found none that wasn’t about love. Love is a fundamental element. We don’t exist without love,” she is quoted in the 16th AFA magazine.
Josie LIN, the executive director of Asian Film Awards Academy, said in a press conference that weekend, “Being an emerging artist in Hong Kong, Lin Min Chen has a positive influence on young people in Asia. The academy entrusts her with this great responsibility as our Youth Ambassador and hopes she will bring Asian films and the Asian Film Awards to a wider audience.”
