Japanese deported for fraud

Yamada was arrested by the BI Fugitive Search Unit along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City after being tagged a fugitive.

The Bureau of Immigration has deported a Japanese national wanted by authorities in Tokyo for financial fraud.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that Risa Yamada, a 26-year-old female, was deported Friday morning, 17 March, on board a Japan Airlines flight bound for Narita.

Yamada was initially arrested by the BI Fugitive Search Unit on 9 January along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City after being tagged a fugitive from justice by her government.

She is reportedly the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by the Tokyo Summary Court on 15 September 2022, where she was indicted for theft.

The Japanese allegedly conspired to steal data from the ATM cards of their victims by posing as bank employees and police officers.
