Bren Esports outlasts world champ ECHO to stay on top

MPL Season 6 champion Bren Esports pulled the rug from under M4 Mobile Legends world champion ECHO on Week 5 Day 2 of MPL Season 11 Saturday at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati.

After losing its opening match against ECHO in Week 1, Bren Esports came back and won five straight matches via sweep. It lost a game in rematch against ECHO but nevertheless came out on top with a 2-1 win which saw Bren team captain Pheww standing out.

“Perhaps my eagerness and passion for playing [is why I’m still here]. I really want to play video games. My eagerness to redeem myself was because I felt weak in seasons 8 and 9. I really wanted to redeem myself [this season],” said Pheww, who has been playing since season 1.

“I am close to their coaching and management. Thank you so much ECHO for the very good game and of course, to the ECHO fans as well. Thank you for coming,” Bren Esports coach Duckey chimed in.

The win improved Bren Esports’ standing to 7-1 with 21 points, keeping its grip on the no.1 spot of the regular season.
