Bong Go aids various vulnerable sectors in South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur

The Office of Senator Bong Go aided struggling residents of South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur from various sectoral groups on Wednesday, 15 March.

In his message, Go expressed his genuine concern for the indigent community in the province. He reassured the residents that he is there to help and support them in any way possible.

“Gusto ko sabihin kung gaano ko kamahal ang mga kapatid naming mga Muslim sa Davao hanggang dito sa Maguindanao… nandirito po ang aking team para tumulong sa inyo,” Go said.

Held at the municipal gymnasium, Go’s outreach team distributed vitamins, masks, meals, snacks, caps, and shirts to 50 struggling residents. They likewise provided cellular phones, watches, and shoes to select individuals.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go also offered additional aid to the beneficiaries in need of medical attention. He then advised them to seek the services of the Malasakit Centers in their province.

Go principally authored and sponsored Republic Act No. 11463, otherwise known as the Malasakit Centers Act, that mandates the establishment of a Malasakit Center in hospitals administered or managed by the Department

Since the first Malasakit Center was launched in 2018, there are now 156 such centers nationwide which have assisted over seven million Filipinos.

Go likewise supported several initiatives in Maguindanao del Sur.

In Datu Abdullah Sangki, Go was instrumental in the construction of several multipurpose buildings and the rehabilitation and widening of Cotabato-Marbel-Ala Road, as well as a new sports complex.

He also supported the construction of multipurpose buildings in Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao del Norte.

On 14 March, Go’s team also aided struggling residents in Datu Salibo.
