Shell tops off decarbonization

Three MoUs formalized collaboration between Pilipinas Shell and CEMEX Holdings Philippines, Inc., Roadex Construction Corporation and Green Antz Builders, which will help address their respective decarbonization challenges

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., a unit of oil giant Royal Dutch Shell, is utilizing its expertise in low-carbon fuels and cleaner energy solutions to help construction companies achieve their decarbonization plans.

The company said Wednesday that it has recently forged an agreement with CEMEX Holdings Philippines Inc., Roadex Construction Corporation and Green Antz Builders, which aims to help address their respective decarbonization challenges.

Three memoranda of understanding or MoUs formalized the collaboration between Pilipinas Shell and its partners.

The tie-up will particularly develop fit-for-purpose solutions and provide integrated offers across the supply chain, which will contribute to reducing emissions.

Bitumen solutions

Among others, Pilipinas Shell offers Bitumen solutions to reduce a business’ impact on the environment during projects, lubricant solutions that cut emissions, enhance productivity, and save money, and fuel solutions that allow higher equipment utilization and site productivity.

It also helps improve carbon footprint and reduce operating costs and establish a carbon compensation program that lets companies balance unavoidable emissions through nature-based projects.

Powering progress for the nation

“These collaborations are in line with our aim of putting sustainability at the heart of our strategy which is powering progress for the nation,” said Lorelie Quiambao-Osial, Country Chair of Shell companies in the Philippines.

For Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary for Information Management and Technical Services Maximo Carvajall, the collaboration will ultimately help the country “achieve our common goals of providing quality, safe, and environment-friendly public infrastructure facilities that will improve the lives of every Filipino.”

Pilipinas Shell recently launched Bitumen and Beyond — an initiative to provide solutions not just for bitumen needs, but also for low-carbon fuels and energy transition products and services.
