Carl Corpus and Jolo Magcalayo bounced back from poor opening rounds to climb up the standings in the Bandon Dunes Championship at the Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon, United States Wednesday.

Corpus, playing for San Jose State University, birdied three of the last 14 holes to salvage an even-par 72 and move to a tie for the 29th spot on 5-over 149.

Magcalayo, a Santa Clara standout, surged to a share of 49th on 152 after a 70 built around five birdies against three bogeys.

Owen Avrit of Oregon shot consecutive 70s to sit atop the leaderboard on 140, two shots ahead of Max Charles of Boise State.

Joe Sykes of Idaho and Calder Overfelt of Santa Clara were tied for third on 143 after a 69 and 72, respectively.
