Actress Bianca Umali has finally spoken up about the 2019 parking lot incident with her boyfried, actor Ruru Madrid, where she was said to have nearly run him over out of jealous rage.

The 23-year-old actress recently spoke with TV host Boy Abunda on his program Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on GMA. She acknowledged that she and Madrid had a public confrontation in 2019 but said the stories about it that came out on social media were “exaggerated at some point.”

“To clear things out, there was an incident pero ‘yung lahat po na lumabas na storya na nababasa niyo — to the point na muntik ko nang masagasaan (the stories that came out that said I nearly run him over) — it was exaggerated at some point,” she said.

The Kapuso star added that, “I did not talk about it anymore because I don’t see the point of clearing the story ng side ko sa lahat ng tao.”

Asked if the incident was caused by jealousy, Umali said yes, but stressed that she only feels jealous on reasonable grounds and that her senses “have been right all the time.”

The parking lot incident led to a seven-month break in her relationship with Madrid, said Umali. But even though they were apart, the pair continued to communicate with each other, finally leading to a reconciliation.

“Ruru did everything that he could to save the relationship as well and to win me back,” Umali said.

The couple revealed their romance last year during an August episode of the GMA show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

Umali, who became well-known for her part in the popular TV show “Kambal, Karibal,” will next be seen in “The Write One,” which will see her paired for the first time with her real-life BF.

The premiere of “The Write One” will air on GMA Telebabad on 20 March and on Viu on 18 March.
