The Philippine peso on Monday, 13 March, gained against the US dollar and closed the week’s first trading day at P54.93 from P55.17 last Friday.

It opened the day at P55.05, sideways from the P55.17 start in the previous session.

The local currency traded between P55.08 and P54.79, resulting in an average of P54.919.

Volume reached $1.07 billion, higher than the $779.8 million at the end of last week.
