SM Foundation mounts two medical missions in Cagayan Valley

Moving toward its vision of helping nurture the health and wellness of communities, the SM group recently held two medical missions in Tuguegarao and Cauayan in the Cagayan Valley region.

Through the medical missions, SM Foundation Inc. was able to assist over 1,200 patients.

Volunteer doctors provide free medical checkups to patients in SM City Tuguegarao.

In SM City Tuguegarao, the foundation extended free medical check-ups, medicines, and vitamins to over 500 patients on 1 March. About 50 beneficiaries availed of the dental services, and over 500 had medical consultations. About 60 patients received free cholesterol and glucose tests.

Over 80 Tuguegaraoeños also underwent free electrocardiogram and x-ray tests through SMFI’s mobile clinic.

During the mission’s second leg in SM City Cauayan on 2 March, SM Foundation also provided free services to over 600 Isabelinos, providing more than 800 medical and dental services — from x-ray and ECG to cholesterol and glucose tests.

Joining the SM group in the successful medical missions were the MX3-DMIRIE Foundation, Tuguegarao and Cauayan local government units, Cagayan United Doctors Medical Center, Cagayan Valley Medical Center, Isabela Medical Society, and Red Cross Isabela.
