While young, we eagerly await our birthdays. However, at some point in our fast-paced lives, birthdays become unwanted reminders of growing old — perhaps a milestone the celebrator would just as soon forget.
Natal days have a magical effect on those who thankfully reach the centennial years with grace and graciousness, dignity and distinction. This is a feat more fulfilling than any achievement that anyone could ever imagine.

Birthday celebrant Isabel Muertegui Garcia.
Isabel Muertegui Garcia recently celebrated her 100th birth centenary surrounded by dear family and closest of friends at the marquee of the colonial house-turned function hall Circa 1900, which blossomed with hundreds to thousands of pink roses.
The milestone started with a solemn Mass officiated by Father Renel Cabag, OAD, Order of the Discalced Augustinians.

Fortunate to be seated beside her, we eagerly asked Tita Isabel — as she is known to everyone — her secret to longevity.
With a captivating smile, she credited this unique distinction to her positive attitude and constant movement in her home activities. Indeed, they consider her the twin keys to her well-being. Just as important, she mentioned her proper attitude of gratitude, a thirst for and enthusiasm to live, plus close positive relationships with family and friends.
She is a favorite storyteller par excellence, one who has lived a full life, who shares her endless stories, experiences, trials and the successes she has endured — all these making her a most interesting person. Undoubtedly, she is one happy woman whose choices in life and their results have put a smile on her youthful face.
