What Moira finds fulfilling

Moira de la Torre views fulfillment as something beyond awards and recognitions.

The singer-songwriter met the press backstage at the Wish Music Awards last 22 January, and Moira shared how she used to think numbers, algorithms, and statistics were what would give her fulfillment.

But nowadays, “Fulfillment comes from knowing you helped a person that day, knowing you helped a person cope, knowing you were a friend,” she said.

“Success for me is knowing you are living up to what you were always called to be,” she added.

The 29-year-old musician is fresh off her wins at the Wish Music Awards, where she bagged the Wish Ballad Song of the Year for “Kumpas” and Wish Artist of the Year.

She has also released a new single, “Ikaw at Sila,” which fans think is the sad version of “Tagpuan.”

Asked about her future plans, Moira said: “I might sing on (the Wish bus) and I also have a concert on (3 February) here at the Araneta Coliseum.”

That concert kicks off her world tour, with 10 shows in three continents booked so far.

Another album is in the works, with “Ikaw at Sila” leading off nine other new tracks. Moira is one fulfilled, extra-productive musician.
