Peso closes at $1 = P54.63

The Philippine peso on Wednesday, 25 January, weakened to P54.63 per US Dollar from the previous day’s P54.435.

The local currency’s weakness on Wednesday showed early when it opened the day at P54.75 versus its P54.6 start on Tuesday.

It traded between P54.79 and P54.53, before the Peso lost 195 centavos against the US Dollar on its closing trade.

The local currency’s average stood at P54.625.

Volume reached $1.02 billion, slightly lower than the $1.05 billion volume a day ago.
