OGCC embraces digitalization

The Office of the Government Corporate Counsel on Tuesday said it has beefed up its digitalization initiatives to better serve the public and improve its oversight functions and policy-making processes.

During Daily Tribune’s digital show Straight Talk, Government Corporate Counsel Rogelio Quevedo said the agency has made inroads to digitize its processes before its 88th anniversary last December.

“I concentrated on digitization and computerizing (the agency) first because that is another project that is counted overnight. You know there is resistance, especially (from) senior citizens like me.”
He also hoped that the agency has inculcated into the public the proper mindset that they (OGCC) are already fully digitized.

Quevedo said that e-filings, or electric filings, are now possible in their agency. It means, there is no more need for a client to send the physical copy of the contract in rendering legal opinions and in reviewing contracts, he explained.

He underscored the necessity of convincing OGCC clients to embrace digitalization.

Among the government corporations represented by the OGCC are the Social Security System, the Government Service Insurance System, Land Bank of the Philippines and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.
