Jala-Jala LGU urged: Pass proposed budget

Residents of Jala-Jala town in Rizal province on Tuesday called on the municipal government to swiftly pass this year’s proposed budget worth P146.614 million as they fear that benefits for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, single parents and job order employees will not be provided.

Kerber Notacion, a staff of the municipal social welfare and development, is also urging the municipal council for the swift passage of the annual budget.

Meantime, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Gerald Perez explained that they are not holding back the budget, stressing that they are following the right process to review and pass the proposed budget.

On the issue that the budget was said to have been delayed because the Sangguniang Bayan is bargaining the monetary claim of ABC president Lucy Villaran, Perez said that there is no truth on the allegation and the only thing they were able to do was assert his right as the ABC president.

Perez also reminded his constituents not to give a conclusion because the Sangguniang Bayan is doing its job.

The Sangguniang Bayan also denied allegations that it is asking for a P6-million budget for educational field trips, saying the said amount is the total maintenance and other operating expenses and capital outlay.
