Razon’s Prime manages waste

ACI is the first waste management business that Prime Infra is developing and upgrading

Razon-led Prime Integrated Waste Solutions Inc. officially entered the waste management business after it completely acquired a Cebu-based firm amid the company’s strong push to modernize its Materials Recovery Facilities.

The company announced Monday that it signed a share purchase agreement with ARN Central Waste Management Inc. last Friday, 20 January.

ACI is the first waste management business that Prime Infra is developing and upgrading. It currently receives around 1,000 tons of Cebu province’s municipal solid waste daily.

According to Prime Infra president and CEO Guillaume Lucci, the transaction “marks Prime Infra’s entry into the waste business.”

Modern waste recovery scheme

“Prime Infra established PWS as a response to the market demand for modern waste recovery facilities to accommodate the rapid year-on-year increase in solid waste output,” he said.

In the next two years, PWS plans to develop two more MRFs in Luzon.

PWS and WasteFuel Philippines, another Prime Infra subsidiary, make up the company’s waste business.

The WasteFuel business seeks to convert organic waste and agricultural feedstock into green methanol and sustainable aviation fuel. Prime Infra said it plans to build its first bio-refinery in Cebu City.
