Bataan seeks ‘green’ coal plant facility

BATAAN CAPITOL — The provincial government here disclosed on Monday that a foreign company is set to construct a “green” coal plant facility in Bataan.

Bataan Governor Joet Garcia said that the provincial government, together with Mackay Negros Bana Charcoal Corporation represented by chairperson James Ronaldson Mackay signed a memorandum of understanding for the coal plant facility.

He stressed that the renewable energy project “is related to the provincial government’s promotion of green energy.”

“With this method our province has the resources of clean and safe energy for the health of everyone, both in nature and the environment,” Garcia said.

Earlier, Grun Arkitekten led by its chairman Garry Carl Froa and other officials paid a courtesy call to Garcia, where they expressed their interest to put up 100 megawatts Waste-to-energy and Biomass in Bataan.
