Parañaque drug bust yields P3-M shabu

Southern Police District anti-drug operatives arrested two persons in a drug bust Friday night in Parañaque City resulting in the seizure of P3 million worth of illegal drugs.

P/Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft, director of SPD, identified the suspects as Fahima Matula alias Tita, 34-years old, and Jhonix Casannova, 23-years old, both residents of Parañaque City.

The anti-drug operation was conducted around 9 p.m. on 20 January at 349 Quirino Avenue corner 4 De Julio Street, Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City.

The successful operation was a result of a weeklong surveillance and test buy from the suspects and when it was proven that they were indeed selling illegal drugs the drug bust was planned out.

Seized and recovered from the suspects were eight sachets containing suspected shabu and two knot-tied plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 530 grams with a value of P3.6 million.

Kraft said the suspects are now under custody while charges are being prepared to be filed before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s office.

The SPD chief said they will continue with their anti-drug operation in his area of responsibility to send a strong message to those involved in the illegal drug trade that the police are pursuing them.
