Shari’ah Courts procedure forum launched
The three-day focus group discussion on Shari’ah kicked off on Friday which aims to get specific knowledge to further improve the delivery of justice in area lacking still of judicial services.
The event — which will run until 22 January in Cotabato City — was organized by the Technical Working Group on Shari’ah of the Supreme Court Committee on Access to Justice in Underserved Areas, in partnership with the Suporta sa Bangsamoro Transition and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Attorney General’s Office.
The FGDs were first conducted on 9 to 11 December 2022 in Marawi City and on 19 to 21 December 2022 in Zamboanga City.
It was headed by Supreme Court Associate Justice Japar Dimaampao and Court of Appeals Associate Justice Anisah Amanodin-Umpa, co-vice-chairpersons of the TWG on Shari’ah.
Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen is the Chairperson of the SC Committee on Access to Justice in Underserved Areas as well as of the TWG on Shari’ah.
