Marikina LGU extends business permit deadline

The local government of Marikina City has extended the deadline for payments of business permit renewals until 31 March 2023 after Mayor Marcelino Teodoro signed Ordinance 001, series of 2023.

The ordinance seeks to extend the period for the renewal of business permits without subcharges and penalties.

“The extension is for those business owners who are just processing their renewal so they can have a longer period and not be fined until March,” Teodoro said.

Teodoro also signed Ordinance 007, series of 2023 which grants amnesty on subcharges and interests of delinquent business taxpayers until 31 March 2023.

The mayor also signed an ordinance for the amnesty on business tax and real property tax. With this, small business owners and taxpayers will be given a 100-percent relief or amnesty on business tax fines and real property tax that are not yet paid.

“They should be given the opportunity to pay without surcharges and interests, fines or penalties. Only the principal amount will be paid to reduce the weight of their worries, so that everyone can recover,” Teodoro said.
