Manila City Council intensifies digitalization efforts

Vice Mayor and Manila City Council presiding officer Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto revealed on Friday that efforts to digitize all city ordinances from its first batch of council is now 80 percent completed.

Nieto said that the digitalization of all the records of the Manila City Council will include ordinances and resolutions in their bid to make records accessible to everyone, especially students.

He added that the full digitalization of council records may be finished in the first quarter of the year.

The records that are now being digitalized will cover ordinances and resolutions passed by the Manila City Council since 1908.

Nieto said that just typing in keywords of the subject matter being searched will lead one to the specific, corresponding Manila City Council records.

The move is to make the Manila City Council keep with the times and the ever-evolving technology.
