Single ticketing scheme ironed out

The technical working group composed of officials from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the Land Transportation Office and the Metro Manila Council on Thursday met for the last time and ironed out remaining details of the proposed single ticketing system for road violations.

The meeting was spearheaded by MMDA chairperson Romando Artes, LTO regional director Atty. Noreen San Luis-Lutey and MMC president and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora. Representatives from the 17 local government units of Metro Manila also attended the meeting.

This was the last technical working group meeting for the Single Ticketing System, a system that aims to create a unified and clear guidelines on violations, number coding, and other traffic rules in Metro Manila roads.

It will also include the IT integration as well as the data privacy of drivers and payment options thru digital payment system or payment centers.
The technical working group also presented the Final Draft of the Metro Manila Traffic Code, the LTO MOA for Interconnectivity with the local government units and the Draft Metro Manila Council Resolution adopting the Metro Manila Traffic Code.

It also disclosed that it has only picked 20 standard violations because these are the most common violations of motorists. If there are any existing traffic ordinances being penalized in their cities that are being implemented and the said cities can still keep them in effect.
