The Manila Regional Trial Court yesterday acquitted former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam of murder over the killing of Batuan, Masbate vice mayor Charlie Yuson III in 2019.
Aside from Cam, her son, Marco Martin Cam, and five others were also acquitted for “failure of the prosecution to prove their guilt beyond reasonable doubt.”
Yuson was killed while he was having breakfast with some companions at an eatery in Sampaloc, Manila on 9 October 2019.
Cam has denied allegations that she was behind the killing. Atty. Buenaventura Miranda, Cam’s counsel, said they expect to get a copy of the decision so they can work on the release of Cam, et al.
