TESDA kicks off dual training

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority has recently launched the dual training system in the region as part of the agency’s goal to incorporate both in-school and in-plant trainings.

TESDA Senior Specialist Liwayway Calaguas stressed that the dual training system aims to provide appropriate training thru school and workplace training, making them comfortable training in both environments.

She added that the agency has numerous scholarship programs available for students who want to develop their skills in different fields and professions such as Training for Work Scholarship Programs, Private Education Student Financial Assistance, Special Training for Employment Program, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program, and Rice Extension Services Program.

The TESDA official said that the need of beneficiaries from various industries and communities in the Philippines are being addressed and met through the implementation of these different scholarship programs.

“Through our program offerings, interested individuals can choose between blended learning and distance learning as TESDA adopted and implemented flexible trainings suitable for the new normal set-up,” Calaguas said.

Meantime, the TESDA on Thursday disclosed that it is already developing the National Technical Education and Skills Development Plan 2023-2028 — the technical vocational education and training sector’s roadmap for the next five years.
