The Philippine peso on Monday, 9 January, improved to P55.11 against the US dollar from the previous session’s finish of P55.64.

It opened the day strong at P55.3 compared to last Friday’s P55.85.

The local currency traded between P55.32 and P55.09, while the average level stood at P55.164.

Volume increased to $1.219 billion from the previous session’s $1.052 billion.
