Ateneo de Manila University guard Dave Ildefonso will be bringing his game to the Korean Basketball League as part of the Suwon KT SonicBooms, Ateneo de Manila team manager Epok Quimpo said on Tuesday.

Interest on Ildefonso was high, according to Quimpo, adding that the squad was determined to sign up the son of former Philippine Basketball Association great Danny Ildefonso.

"Suwon was the first team to ask about Dave and the only team I know was aggressive in pursuing him. Dave made it clear even before the year started that he would finish his playing years in Ateneo."

Ildefonso, 22, ended his stint in Ateneo not only with a UAAP crown but also a Mythical team trophy.

He averaged 12 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in Season 85.

Ildefonso has yet to make an announcement but should he fly to Korea, he will join SJ Belangel, RJ Abbarientos and Rhenz Abando, who are all making a name for themselves in the KBL.

Another Blue Eagle in Finals Most Valuable Player Ange Kouame is also being offered to play overseas but Quimpo bared his top priority is committed to play for Gilas Pilipinas.

"You have to realize that Ange is part of the national pool and can be called anytime to serve. We are focused on his knee surgery, rehab and workouts," Quimpo said.

"There were scouts who were already watching Ange practice. They know Ange is studying in Ateneo and they respect that but now that he is almost finished with Ateneo, I'm sure those offers will be put on the table."
