Sharp promotes safer, healthier environment this holiday season

Addressing the need for clean air and safe spaces, Sharp provides health essentials that are ideal partners in ensuring the best protection for families and all types of lifestyles. Sharp also creates a life of ease and comfort with its programs and activities that care for the community.

Sharp's original Plasmacluster Ion Technology, present in all Sharp Air Purifier products, generates positive and negative ions released in large volumes into the air that deactivate airborne viruses and bacteria by up to 99.9 percent. It also reduces static electricity, eliminates odors, and prevents dry eyes and skin.

A recent study verified the effect of Sharp's Plasmacluster technology on long-term cultured human airway stem cells, confirming its potential to decrease viscous airway mucus secretion, a problem in asthma patients. Sharp's technology may help alleviate respiratory tract symptoms related to airway conditions such as asthma.

The rise of dengue cases in the Philippines has put a toll on community health as it had reached more than 160,000 cases from January to September 2022, or 183 percent higher versus the same period last year, according to the Department of Health.

These health risks call for a cleaner and safer environment. All Sharp air purifiers equipped with the innovative Plasmacluster Ion Technology  help deactivate harmful viruses and bacteria in the air by up to 99 percent. They are also world's first air purifiers with mosquito-catching feature, protecting the household against mosquito-carrying diseases and keeping surroundings clean and free from odors and allergens.

In celebration of Sharp Philippines' 40th anniversary and Sharp Corporation's 110th anniversary, the brand has launched its "Healthier Community with Sharp Cares" Program, which is giving away 110  units of Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier with Mosquito-Catching Feature to 40 selected schools in Muntinlupa City. This program also seeks to increase dengue awareness and virus and bacteria prevention among students, teachers, and parents in both public and private schools. The first half of the program was implemented in November 2022 in nine schools, and will continue to be implemented until mid-2023.

Sharp air purifiers are also perfect for homes, boutiques, restaurants, offices, hospitals, cars, and any enclosed space. The company recently opened its Sharp Kiosk Booth at the Upper Ground Floor, Expansion Wing of Festival Mall, Alabang in Muntinlupa City, featuring its entire lineup of Sharp air purifiers.

On 28 November to 4 December 2022, the Sharp Appliance Festival was held at 2/F Expansion Hall, Festival Mall Alabang, showcasing all products of Sharp. The event included several other activities, including a Tekken 7 Tournament and a cooking demonstration featuring the new Sharp Air Fryer.

Sharp also relaunched its Ion Boy mascot, representing Sharp's commitment to a healthier environment while educating kids in a fun and lively manner. Ion Boy was present at the recently held Sharp Appliance Festival, and will be seen also in upcoming Sharp events.
