Cargo Movers roll to second straight win

Games Thursday:

5:30 p.m. –- Chery Tiggo vs Army

F2 Logistics collected its second straight win despite missing the services of top hitter Kalei Mau with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-20, beating of slumping PLDT in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Tuesday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

After back-to-back losses in their first two outings, the Cargo Movers improved to a 2-2 win-loss slate at No. 4 spot tied with Choco Mucho.

“Of course, it was not easy coming off two losses, but we cannot stop working. Whatever happens we push for that win. Every game, we should win. That’s our goal as a team,” F2 Logistics head coach Benson Bocboc said. “We won two games in a row, hopefully, we can sustain it.”

American import Lindsay Stalzer and Kim Kianna Dy shouldered the scoring chores for F2 Logistics, which has yet to field a complete lineup after getting bit yet again by the injury bug.

Mau, who suffered cramps in the Cargo Movers’ straight sets conquest of Army last week, was sidelined by an undisclosed injury.

Stalzer posted 19 points coming off 15 kills, two aces and two kill blocks. The 38-year-old spiker was also efficient on defense with 10 digs and six excellent receptions for F2 Logistics.

Dy got 12 markers with all but one of her points coming off attacks while Aby Marano and Shola Alvarez, who returned after missing two games due to health and safety protocols, got eight and six markers, respectively, for the Cargo Movers.

F2 Logistics dictated the pace for most of the game, outgunning the High Speed Hitters, 44-35, and scoring nine kill blocks.

PLDT absorbed its third defeat in a row for a 1-3 slate tied with Akari.

Russian import Elena Samoilenko was the only PLDT player in double figures with 17 points while Fiola Ceballos and Eli Soyud had seven markers each.
