In the aftermath of his embarrassing 2016 loss in the Presidential polls, we saw how Mar Roxas retreated from public life, and faded into oblivion, only to be egged and forced to rejoin a lackluster senatorial lineup that was badly trumped in 2019 polls.
Imagine that.
Mar Roxas tried to parlay his political status to lend a semblance of prominence and credibility to team Otso Diretso, but alas, his name and reputation were so damaged by the perception of incompetence and epalism that Otso Diretso turned to "Otso Inidoro" where no one among them eight oppo candidates made it.
Today, we are again seeing the so-called opposition leader trying to remain relevant, after a most resounding defeat last May, where the sheer vote margin by the eventual winner was bigger than her actual votes garnered.
The defeat of Leni Robredo was more than humiliating because the total votes she got were even lower than her votes as Vice President in 2016, even as the voter population increased substantially from 2016 to 2022.
With that kind of trashing at the polls, one would expect somebody like her to retreat privately and nurture her loss so far away from the prying eyes of the public.
But nope, not this dumb one.
Perhaps because of the dearth of candidates from among the dilawans, the oppo has no choice but to work and push for Leni to remain relevant and attempt another Mar Roxas playbook of running for Senator in 2025.
And so we continue to be bombarded by her endeavors and antics in mainstream and social media, all the way to Massachusetts where she is now lecturing at Harvard.
The thing is, despite the painful task of trying to rebuild and re-package her image, she is still ridiculed and not taken seriously by the majority, again just like Mar Roxas.
It does not help that her Harvard stint reveals how she is resorting to propagandizing and eventually destroying the country's image by highlighting election cheating and the problem of disinformation, even as she would not dare admit that it was mostly her camp who has been misinforming and disinforming the public during the campaign and until now with that Harvard charade.
Amusingly, her defenders try to parry the outrage against her by arguing that she is now a private citizen, so she should be given a break and spared from all the negativity thrown her way by an angry citizenry.
But if she is a private Leni, why is she still being hyped all over the media? Why the daily exposure and PR blitz for her?
Ain't it stupid to cry that you are now a private individual yet you continue to crave and seize public attention?
Leni and her dilawan minions a.k.a. Kakampinks should know better by now.
The problem is, like Mar Roxas, she is so dumb and so incompetent to recognize the writing on the wall.
In our vernacular, the apt description is – "Walang kadala dala."
