Thinking all pink this October

"Think pink" this October for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The pink ribbon has been a long-standing symbol of hope, strength, and unity for millions across the globe.

Evelyn Lauder, breast cancer activist and daughter-in-law of Estee Lauder of the cosmetics brand, helped formalize the use of the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness campaigns.

Now on its 30th year, the campaign continues with support worldwide.

This year, we were invited to the Pink Ball, a charity gala for the Philippine Foundation for Breast Care (Kasuso Inc).

Kaye Tinga, Tessa Prieto, and Tim Yap, with help from various organizations, mounted the Pink Ball on 13 October at Shangri-La The Fort, with the goal of raising P6 million to fund 4,000 free mammograms for women.

The hotel's grand ballroom was adorned with every shade of pink one could imagine.

We wore our best pink outfit and joined other guests to take part in a relevant cause.

After cocktails, a full-course dinner, and live music from timeless talents led by Martin Nievera came the much-awaited part of the evening: the auction of luxury items, all donated by generous donors.
However, the best part of the night was that the auction raised around P10 million, which surpassed the target amount.

One of the foundation's trustees, Aileen Antolin, delivered inspiring words.

And then we celebrated the feat with an afterparty.
