In a way, if Sec. Trixie gets the axe, it was because she followed orders with the pure intention of getting things done.

As she was one of those bypassed by the Commission on Appointments, the burning question now is this — Will current Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles be re-appointed by President Bongbong Marcos, as required?

For the sake of this country, and for our President, I hope she gets the re-appointment.

And I am speaking from someone who is on the outside looking in.

Because as far as I can tell based on the social media mood meter, there is no compelling reason to fire her based on how she has been carrying out her job as Press Secretary.

In terms of output and style, Secretary Trixie has carried herself with aplomb, and even mainstream media cannot deny that she has been very effective.

Of course, in so far as the coherence of the messaging, she can only be as effective as her leader.

In this case, it seems she may have been misguided and misled by the previous Executive Secretary, who was bent on taking full control of the internal workings of the administration.

Sec. Trixie took the cue from the previous ES, perhaps out of deference and that recognition that he is acting "under the blanket authority" extended to him by PBBM, or so he says.

In a way, if Sec. Trixie gets the axe, it was because she followed orders with the pure intention of getting things done.

As it is, she has become collateral damage in this Vic Rodriguez saga which has severely undermined the administration with his brazen power play.

It will be unfortunate if Sec. Trixie is let go. She has been a shining asset to the administration, with a very high public acceptance rating.

And right now, the PBBM administration would be well to maintain the status quo and stem this growing erosion of goodwill from the public. There must be an end to this ongoing madness as we enter a most difficult recovery phase in our economy.

It is also important that stability prevail, lest destabilizing forces gain the needed ground because of this perception of internal strife.

I really hope Secretary Trixie will be given a second chance.

And for this, I trust that President will do the right thing.

Mark my word.
