BAGUIO CITY — Operatives from the Kalinga Provincial Police intercepted the transportation of marijuana and arrest a drug personality at a police checkpoint conducted on 29 September 2022.
Police identified the suspect as Ersilias Maccay Baccoy, a resident of Barangay Butbut Proper, Tinglayan in Kalinga.
According to Kalinga Police Provincial Office, personnel of Lubuagan Municipal Police Station, 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company and Provincial Intelligence Unit received information that a private vehicle will be transporting marijuana products from Tinglayan going to Tabuk City.
Acting on the said information, the police operatives have established a joint checkpoint at Sitio Dinakan, Barangay Dangoy in Lubuagan town.
At the checkpoint, the vehicle was stopped and police discovered the contraband.
Seized from the suspect are 22 bricks of dried Marijuana leaves and stalks with fruiting tops weighing more or less 22,000 grams with an estimated worth of P2,640,000.
The suspect and seized contraband were brought to Lubuagan Pucefor proper documentation and disposition.
