SBMA celebrates National Tourism Week

SBMA celebrates National  Tourism Week

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority is celebrating National Tourism Week 2022 with various activities conducted face-to-face after two years of hiatus due to the pandemic.

According to SBMA chairperson and administrator Rolen C. Paulino, the National Tourism Week 2022 is one of the most anticipated tourism events in this premiere Freeport. He added that with Executive Order No. 3 issued by President Marcos, more tourists will now flock to Subic Bay for its fresh air and clean environment.

Tourism Manager Jem Camba said that the National Tourism Week inside the Freeport will start on Monday, 26 September and will end on the 30th. She cited that on the 26th, the agency will hold a job fair not just for tourism-related businesses, but for other companies here.

"On the 27th of September, we will be holding an outreach program. This is to give back to the community who has supported our endeavors in making this premier Freeport into the best tourism destination in Central Luzon," chairperson Paulino said.

The agency is also set to conduct a Tourism Quiz Challenge 2022, with questions about the tourism industry here, as Chairman Paulino cited that Subic Freeport is known as the "go to" tourist destination in Central Luzon.

"The Tourism Quiz Challenge is on its sixth year and s a pocket event of the National Tourism Week celebration which aims to motivate and encourage tourism students to develop their interests in careers, recreation, leisure, hotel and restaurants and to promote an awareness of our tourism products in the Philippines through a question and answer game challenge," Camba said.

The agency will also hold a bartending and flairtending competition on the 29th, along with Subic Bay's Got Talent on the 30th. Both events will be held at the Harbor Point Ayala Mall and is open to all stakeholders of the Subic Bay Freeport.
