Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula on Friday invited the Catholic faithful to join Celebrate Asia in Manila on Monday,

Advincula said people should come together to thank God for the grace of faith that Filipinos received 500 years ago.

He also invited Filipinos to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conference.

"I would like to invite you, and your lay leaders to join me and Cardinal Chito Tagle in the said event, admission is free," he said.

Celebrate Asia in Manila will feature the church's reflection on the results of synodal consultations held in the country's 86 dioceses.

Celebrate Asia in Manila will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Manila Cathedral until 12:30 p.m. on Monday, where Cardinal Advincula will preside over the closing mass.

Meanwhile, the CBCP Permanent Council will also attend the FABC meeting, which will be led by Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David.

The FABC was founded in 1970 when Asian bishops met in Manila during Pope Paul VI's apostolic visit to the Philippines.

Attendees of Celebrate Asia in Manila can register on the website of the Office for the Promotion of the New Evangelization.
