Motorists loading up diesel can get relief in their fuel expenses this week.
In separate advisories on Monday, oil companies announced that diesel prices will be slashed by as much as P4.15 per liter starting Tuesday morning, 20 September.
Kerosene prices will also go down by P4.45 per liter. Gasoline prices, however, will not move.
Last week, oil companies also slashed fuel prices — gasoline went down by P0.40 per liter, diesel by P1.45 per liter, and kerosene prices by P1.70 per liter.
The DoE data showed that as of 14 September, the cumulative increase of gasoline stood at P16.50 per liter, diesel at P34.80 per liter, and kerosene at P29.90 per liter.
Gas at P73 max
From 13 to 15 September, the DOE data showed the price of gasoline in Quezon City, Metro Manila's largest city, ranged from P63.30 to P73.10 per liter.
Diesel prices range from P75.80 to P80.10 in Makati City, the country's financial hub, while in Manila, the country's capital, kerosene prices range from P80.41 to P89.00 per liter.
Oil companies announce price adjustments every Monday to be implemented on the following day's morning.
They adjust their prices weekly based on the movement of the Mean of Platts Singapore — the regional pricing benchmark adopted by the deregulated downstream oil sector.
