NEW YORK CITY–Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. rang the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Monday, 19 September, (Tuesday, 20 September, PHL time).
The closing bell signaled the end of trading day at 4:00 in the afternoon.
On the bell podium, Marcos was accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno.
The Filipino leader is on his second day of his six-day trip in the United States of America.
He is set to deliver a speech before the United Nations General Assembly.
In 1995, NYSE allowed celebrities and personalities to signal the closing of trades in the stock market aside from its floor managers.
