No match: Motorbike vs cement mixer

A motorcycle-riding duo was injured when their vehicle was hit by a moving cement mixer truck Wednesday night at the corner of Taft Avenue and Malvar Street, Ermita, Manila.

The victim, who was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital was identified as Ireneo Ancheta y Rubianes, driver of the Honda XRM with plate number 0201557814 and Jonathan Royopa y Manuel,the back rider. They sustained wounds due to the collission

A traffic investigator from the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit, identified the suspect as Ronie Quintana y Espera ,driver of Truck Mixer with  plate no. UOX873.

Based on the investigation of PCMS Jun Jun Jasminez,of the MDTEU, the incident occurred at 8:45 p.m. while victims and suspect were cruising along Taft Avenue and upon reaching northbound lane of the Taft Avenue to Gen. Malvar Street in Ermita the truck hit the back portion of the motorcycle where the two ride went off balance and fell on the pavement.

A charge of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injury will be slapped on the driver of the truck who is now detained at the MDTEU compound.
