Distressed Jeddah OFWs back home

Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration's Arnel Ignacio on Wednesday night arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 with 101 distressed overseas Filipino workers from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in tow.

Ople and Ignacio personally went to Jeddah to attend the problems of these OFWs, according to DMW spokesperson Tony Nebrida.

He added that the the Philippine Embassy, DMW and OWWA arranged and assisted in the repatriation of more than one hundred OFWs who are all in trouble in Saudi Arabia.

The POLO in Jeddah and Alkubar are in contact with the authorities in Saudi Arabia to arrange the documents of the distressed OFWs to return to the country.

Most of the returning OFWs had various cases, and some of them had problems with their employers.
