OVP warns against fake personnel

The Office of the Vice President yesterday warned the public against people posing as its employees who are soliciting cash.

This came after a man, identified as Joel Calis, was arrested on Tuesday night in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan for allegedly presenting himself as an OVP staff to solicit financial assistance from Mayor Arthur Robes for the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 3 projects for senior citizens, persons with disability, and solo parents.

"The public is cautioned against fraudulent individuals and groups posing as employees of the Office of the Vice President," OVP spokesperson lawyer Reynold Munsayac said in a Viber message.

"Please make sure to verify (first) the identity of the people who identify themselves as connected to the OVP," Munsayac added.

He also asked for the public's help to stop similar fraudulent activities by reporting it to the OVP and the authorities.

"Providing photos and videos of people pretending to be employees of the OVP will also help," he added.
