Authorities seized P16 million worth of illegal drugs from 10 suspects in a separate police operation in provinces of Cordillera, Davao, and Bulacan, according to Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr.

In Tabuk City in Kalinga, a suspect identified as Salang-oy Alunday was intercepted at a police checkpoint by personnel from Tabuk City Police Station while attempting to transport a huge stash of marijuana worth P15.6-million on board a white commuter van.

The contraband was packed into 126 bricks and four tubular packagings weighing a total of 130,000 grams.

"The suspect may have been involved in large-scale trafficking of Marijuana as evidenced by the huge quantity confiscated from him. The vigilance of our personnel was instrumental in suppressing the possible consumption of illegal drugs that could possibly happen in case this marijuana was successfully delivered," Azurin said.

Over at Davao City, operatives of Talomo Police Station 3 of the Davao City Police Office and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency of Region 11 arrested Jezrel Villaros Adalwan, Antonio Mangin, Daniel Bustamante, Alan Leal and Leo Alquizar were all are considered as high-value individuals for illegal drugs.

The operation which took place last 2 September and seized from them are illegal drugs weighing approximately 13 grams valued at P88,400.

Meanwhile, a drug den was raided by police in Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Saturday and operatives from the PNP and PDEA conducted an operation that led to the arrest of five drug suspects identified as Jumar Nicariel Uligan; Grace Sta. Cruz; Nicole Figueroa; Arnold Viola; and Patrick Sta. Cruz.
