Quezon City cops checked Sunday on the condition of a minor, a grade 7 student, who returned home at Batasan Hills after she was reported missing by her mother on Friday.

Members of the Station Women and Children Concerns Section of the Batasan Police Station 6 facilitated the return of the minor who got lost when she tried to go to the workplace of her mother.

A good samaritan provided the minor temporary shelter until she was contacted by her mother and the police.

The Batasan police officers brought groceries and provided financial aid to the family of the minor during their visit to ascertain whether everything was well or whether she needed counseling.

Thereafter, both the mother and child were invited to the Batasan PS 6 so their statement could be taken and close the missing person case earlier filed at the station by the mother.

Cases of minors running away had been reported as abductions by some on social media, prompting the Philippine National Police to deny that kidnapping cases have surged.
