With the opening of classes just around the corner, the local government of San Pedro, Laguna is set to distribute free school supplies to kinder up to senior high school students in public and private schools in the city.
San Pedro City Mayor Art Mercado said that they are providing the assistance as part of his local government’s thrust to improve the city’s education system.
The mayor said that he has allocated funds for the procurement of supplies that will be distributed not only to students but to teachers as well.
Mercado stressed that programs, projects and activities of the local government are made possible because of the stakeholders’ contribution through taxes and with these, the city’s constituents can have better lives.
At least 70,000 students are expected to receive the free school supplies which will be distributed to schools by batches.
The San Pedro City mayor also eyes to improve and strengthen the scholarship offerings of the city especially through the Iskolar ng Lungsod ng San Pedro for college students.
