Johnny Litton: Living and sharing a beautiful life

Emcee par excellence, society columnist and man about town Johnny Litton has notched another year! And the wiser and wittier-than-ever Johnny once again turned his birthday celebration into one big philanthropic event. The guests at his party held at the grand ballroom of Dusit Thani Manila were more than glad to share their bounty with the beneficiaries of the EJ Litton Foundation, which was established in honor of Johnny's late son EJ, upon the suggestion of singer/composer Jose Mari Chan. Among the beneficiaries are Philippine Red Cross, Kythe, White Cross, Makabata School Foundation Inc., Healing Servants Foundation, Sumalo Elementary School in Bataan, and families affected by typhoon Sendong and the torrential rains brought by the recent southwest monsoon.
Johnny was especially grateful to his former associates, loyal clients, well-meaning friends and sponsors especially to Philippine Hoteliers Inc.'s vice chairman and president Evelyn Singson and Dusit Thani Manila general manager Prateek Kumar. He also thanked his three families — the Litton family, Jayelles and The Philippine Star — which made him what he is today. A family man three times over, Johnny is living a full and wonderful life!

Picture-perfect, cancer-free society
The spirit of bayanihan exists in several forms, even through photos, as recently shown during the unveiling of the Philippine Cancer Society's (PCS) 2012 Best Dressed Women of the Philippines' photo exhibit. This collaborative project by PCS and the Camera Club of the Philippines aims to gather more support for the various cancer-awareness activities as well as assistance to the beneficiaries of PCS. As one of the initial phases of this year's festive and very meaningful gathering, the Best Dressed Awards, now on its ninth year, the exhibit showcased the captivating portraits of the 2012 Style Icons, 2012 Best Dressed awardees and 2012 Best Dressed ambassadors who all exemplify charity and support to the success of the annual gala. Best Dressed Women of the Philippines chairman, Angola consul Helen Ong; PCS president, Dr. Roberto Paterno; Camera Club of the Philippines president, lawyer Manolo Roxas; and 2012 Style Icon Carolyn Tan led a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open this year's exhibit. Touted as one of the most-awaited activities of the Best Dressed awards, the event had special guests, including 2012 Best Dressed awardee Agile Zamora's friends from Spain and the United States. The 9th Best Dressed Annual Awards Ball was on Sept. 26 at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. This event was sponsored by East West Bank with media partners Lifestyle Asia, The Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer and The Manila Bulletin.
