Government forces have launched a manhunt against some 15 members of New People’s Army (NPA) who torched on Friday several heavy equipment that were being used for a dam project in Infanta, Quezon.

He added they will exhaust all means to track down and arrest the suspects.

Describing the attackers as terrorists, Calabarzon police regional office head Chief Supt. Edward Carranza condemned the act and vowed to bring the suspects before the bar of justice.

Carranza said the terrorists torched three backhoes and a bulldozer being used for Kaliwa Dam project in Sitio Queborosa in Barangay Magsaysay, Infanta.

“Upon knowledge of the incident, I immediately directed my men to double their efforts in solving the case and assure that the responsible persons will be put behind bars,” Carranza said.

He added they are now coordinating with the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the arrest of the perpetrators of the incident.

“We will not allow these terrorists to continue committing and sowing violence in our communities,” he said.

He added they will exhaust all means to track down and arrest the suspects.

Infanta police chief Lowell Atienza said the burned heavy equipment are owned by the Northern Builders Corporation.
