Thirty male and female models from all over the country will compete for the World’s Best Model title tonight, 9 February, 7 p.m., The Eye, Green Sun Hotel, Chino Roces Ave., Makati.
The competition, which also features a show with Robbie Carmona as consulting director and Markie delos Santos and Concon Seniel as directors, aims to discover top image, print, fashion, runway and commercial models.
It is led by Prowess Supremacy Production, Inc. (PSPI), composed of people involved in events management, public relations, corporate communications, beauty pageants and the fashion industry. The PSPI board of directors is composed of indie film producer and travel executive Jose Stephen Santos as chairman, ace fashion designer Edwin Uy as president, banker and former model Alelyn Baldoza as vice president for Finance and Jas Baldoza as creative director.
Contestants will compete in the streetwear, swimwear, evening gown and contemporary indigenous inspired-designs segments.
Part of the event’s proceeds will go to a farmers’ group the agency has singled out in its aim to protect the rights of indigenous people it is working closely with. It will also help tillers of the land and weavers by showcasing their products and give them more work opportunities.
