Beaten in fistfight, teen knifes foe

A 15-year-old beaten in a fistfight by a Grade 11 student resorted to stabbing the latter Sunday night, the Malabon City police reported yesterday.

Bombing threat in Makati a hoax.

The suspect identified only as “Tambol” figured in a brawl with the stabbing victim who was a year older in yet another incident that may prop legislative initiatives to lower the age of criminal liability.

The fistfight happened at around 11 p.m., but nearly an hour later the two protagonists met again on the street. “Tambol” knifed the victim in the second encounter.

The victim was rushed to the Tondo Medical Center for treatment of his two stab wounds in the back while “Tambol” fled, according to Senior Supt. Jessie Tamayao.

The parents of the boys met at the Malabon police station and amicably settled the incident. But the police will continue with their manhunt operation against the young suspect, Tamayao said.

Meanwhile, the Makati City police calmed down residents of Barangay Bangkal Monday by declaring as false alarm a bomb scare generated by a luggage left at the Magallanes Interchange.

The bag was spotted at 1:15 p.m. following a text message warning of a bomb allegedly planted at the Bangkal Barangay Hall.

The Makati explosives and ordnance team of the city police conducted a search of the barangay hall after determining the luggage to be empty.
