Runway rehab

The international runway of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport has been undergoing rehabilitation, as well as degreasing and the removal of scorched rubber from its surface since April.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the program entails closing the runway from 12 midnight to 6 a.m. and not just from the usual 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. break.

The rehabilitation works are intended to keep the runway safe for landing and takeoff, according to MIAA.
